Pirate Mickey was originally announced on the Disney Parks Blog and was released at Disneyland shortly after. He was then released at Walt Disney World the following week. The release of him coincides well with the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film set to bow in May. The film is thought to be the inspiration for this interpretation of Mickey.
